Seco

1873-1901
Mile 743.0 from San Francisco

Seco was established in June of 1873 as a section station. The
facilities were moved here from "Ten-Mile" which is 3.6 miles east.
An early travel guide describes Seco as "an unimportant station
in the midst of the sage plains. But an 1869 newspaper reported
"good progress on the rails with not even a stand of sage to
slow progress."

The population was primarily Chinese, with no more than 25 at
any one time.
